System Engineer HPC - Research Center

Our partner is a leader in numerical simulation located in Hainaut. Their ambition is to be internationally recognized as a technology leader in modeling and numerical simulation, to be a strategic partner of large global industries as well as a real support to regional companies.

They are seeking a System Engineer HPC (M/F/X) to manage their cutting-edge supercomputer. Position available immediately!

• Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Walloon tier-1 supercomputer
• Monitoring and maintenance of resources and management tools
• User support : assistance with onboarding and resolution of software issues
• Contribute to the drafting of technical specifications for the supply of new equipment
• Collaboration with suppliers for proactive maintenance and hardware or software updates
• Continuous improvement of user and system documentation

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
• Effective communication in French or English, both would be a plus
• Good organizational skills and independent in daily tasks.
• Good analytical mind, especially to quickly identify and solve problems.

Would be a plus:

• Knowledge of Slurm, PBS
• Experience with parallel file systems such as GPFS, Lustre
• Proficiency with tools like Ansible, Puppet
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++ and Fortran.
